Positive Thinking

Mental Challenge:

Try this for the next ten consecutive days. Make certain that your entire focus in life is on solutions and not on problems.  The minute you see a possible challenge, immediately focus on what the solution could be.

Think positively, live longer!

A B C’s of Student Success

Attendance is a critical factor in any child’s educational success. Children should attend school every day,  except in cases of illness or emergency. It is impossible to replace the learning that happens on any school day with make-up work. Regular attendance and promptness are good habits that are expected and appreciated at all levels of schooling and in the workplace. This year, make school a priority in your household. Commit to excellence in attendance. Your child’s future depends on it!

Students Work

The following is written by Will – 7th Grader

AHEM, AHEM attention… this is Will I Am, and I want to tell you a little bit about myself. My closest friend is Jethro because we always hang out, and he’s always helping me make my life better. Jethro and I always talk over our girl problems, and we help each other work them out. Do you have a favorite color? I do. My favorite color is blue. I love the color blue so much that I painted my room blue. When my mom comes over, she says that my room is as blue as the sky. Well, for my television viewing, let’s just say not so much goes on there. For my talents, let’s start off with sports. I’m really good at football. When it comes to running the ball, call me, “I’m your guy.”

The saddest event in my life was when my brother died. It really upset me because I wasn’t there to protect him. It all started two years ago. I was in fifth grade, when I heard my brother got shot over a stupid video game.  So, when I think about him, the only thing that puts a smile on my face is remembering that he’s in God’s hands now, and that’s all that matters. God is going to take care of him now. The best event in my home is when I hold my brother’s picture in my hand and look back on the memories we shared together, remembering that he can share those memories with God. The saddest moment in my life was when my mom came home from the hospital and she told me she almost died. That broke my heart.

My favorite subject in school is language arts because I have an amazing teacher, who shows me the right way to speak, write and read. The best book that I’ve ever read is Spirit Bear because it’s a fantastic book and it taught me life-long lessons. The book Spirit Bear shows a lot of emotion and bullying and wanting to be in control of every- body. Jiminy Crickets, did you know that if it wasn’t for language arts, we would speak so not right. But because of language arts we know what a noun is, we know what a simile is, and without that our writing will be nothing.

If I could change one thing in my life it would be to have my brother back. One of my goals is to become an architect and make a home for everybody for free. Even if they’re  homeless and have nothing to eat. I will provide them with the things that they need to survive. I will build them a nice house and give them money to start off with. I will give homes to people in Africa and build restaurants and give them food like the rest of us. I have a dream that people, no matter what they look like, can share the same life or better life than they have now. I have a dream that people will not have to starve or live on the streets just because they have no money. I have a dream that people will stop judging other people whether they’re gay or straight or bi.  All are people and have hearts and the same rights as others. I have a dream that dogs and cats should be treated fairly and not be put up for adoption. Like a wise man once told me there are no bad animals, just bad owners.

If I could be a different person for one day I think I’d be God so I can see all the people who died and be able to take care of them in heaven. If I could make three wishes they would impact the world.  My first wish would be to have my brother back, my second wish would  be to touch the world, and to have everybody read this essay. My third wish is to take back all the mean things that I’ve said to people  in the world because I’m better than that and that’s not how I want to be remembered.  I want to be remembered as a young man who changed the world and who takes care of his environment. Hopefully, this is God’s path that he chose for me to go in life.   So I know when the going gets tough to never give up because the world is always going to have its ups and downs. And when people talk about hating other people they should be worried about how selfish there being sometimes. People get the most great things in life like an Xbox 360 or a ps3 and there still complaining I want this, I want that well oh well there are people who don’t have anything and would die for the things we have today.
